Bass Pro Little Rock Celebrates Release of Federal Duck Stamp

Today June 23, is the first day of sale for the 2017-18 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp.  Bass Pro Shops in Little Rock will be holding an event celebrating the first day of sale and also selling the first Federal Duck Stamp of the year. The event begins at 11 a.m. This years stamp was created by James Hautman an artist from Minnesota. He was previously featured on the 1991 1995, 1999, and 2011 stamps. Also the Junior Duck Stamp will be released today.  The Junior Stamp was created by 12 year old Isaac Schreiber of Virginia. Both of these artist will be attending the event.

The Federal Duck Stamp was created in 1934.  Since 1934 the Federal Duck Stamp has raised more than $950 million to protect and acquire more than 6 million acres of waterfowl habitat. Officials from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be in attendance.  Multiple Conservations groups, decoy carvers, duck call manufacturers, and various other groups will have booths set up to celebrate the release of the 2017-18 Federal Duck Stamp.
