Buck Finn’s Geauxrilla Flotilla- July 15

Buck Finn’s Geauxrilla Flotilla (BFGF) is an annual float trip down the White River from Clarendon to St. Charles held on the White River National Wildlife Refuge.  The event came about when Louis “Buck Finn” Gibbs planned on floating his house boat down the river from Clarendon to St. Charles.  People were excited about floating the house down the river, but Louis ended up selling the house boat.  People were saddened about not being able to float the boat, so Louis decided to float the river anyway and invited everyone.  The event attracted quite the following. Within the last three years the event has grown exponentially. That first year saw 57 boats in attendance. After the first year, the potential to raise money for the White River NWR was realized. The second year featured 250 boats, and raised $15,000 for the White River NWR. Year three saw 400 boats, and they are expecting an even bigger crowd this year.  If you are looking for a fun time this Saturday enjoying the White River, and helping a great cause bring your friends and boat down to Clarendon for the 2017 BFGF.
