Free Fishing Weekend

Arkansas will be hosting a free fishing weekend June 8-10. Free fishing begins Friday June 8 at noon, and goes through midnight Sunday night. No angler will need a fishing license or trout permit to fish anywhere in Arkansas.

This is a great opportunity to get out and introduce someone to the great sport of fishing.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host fishing derbies at five state fish hatcheries from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday June 9. The derbies are for anglers 12 and under. Each child must be supervised by an adult. Kids can catch and keep up to three catfish (or three trout at the Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery).
