Modern Gun Season Opens- 2017

As the day length gets shorter we’re seeing an increase in rutting activity across the state. In addition a recent cold front has put the bucks on the move. Users have reported an increase in deer activity, especially bucks. From an Increase in daytime activity, to chasing and fresh scrapes, the rut is clearly upon us. 

Modern gun seasons opens today across the state, and thousands of hunters will be flooding the woods. Some things to remember: Hunter orange must be worn at all times even on private land. Also new this year, it is unlawful to use natural scents or lures that contain natural deer and elk urine or other biofluids.
